The Firefly Who Lit the Storm

A tiny firefly's courage shows that even small light matters in dark times.

On a stormy monsoon night, a young firefly named Diya was blown far from her home. The rain was heavy. The wind was loud. All the other insects had hidden away. In the dark, Diya heard a tiny voice crying — a lost baby butterfly, wings too wet to fly. "I cannot see the way home," the butterfly whimpered. Diya was so small. Her light was so small. The storm was so big. But she said, "I will light the way for as long as I can." She flew slowly ahead, her tiny lamp glowing through the rain. The butterfly followed. Step by step, leaf by leaf, they reached a warm dry hollow in an old tree. Inside, the butterfly's family had been waiting all night. In the morning the storm was gone, and Diya flew home with a heart bigger than the sky.
