A small monkey discovers that joy doubles when it is shared.

High in a mango tree lived a monkey called Mithu. Mithu loved sweet mangoes more than anything in the world. Every morning he picked the ripest one and ate it all alone, hiding from the other monkeys.
One day a passing sage rested under the tree. He looked up at Mithu and smiled. "Friend monkey, why do you eat alone?"
"If I share, I will have less," Mithu replied.
The sage laughed kindly. "Try it once. If you regret it, never share again."
So Mithu picked four mangoes and tossed them down — to a deer, a parrot, a squirrel, and the sage. The deer thanked him with a happy bound. The parrot sang a song. The squirrel brought him three new fruits from a tree he didn't know. The sage smiled.
That night Mithu went to sleep with a full belly AND a full heart — and he understood at last what the sage had meant.
